Super Bowl Sunday Today is Super Bowl Sunday with the New England Patriots squaring off
against the New York Giants. This is another great opportunity for sisters to get together. I am not much
of a football fan but the hoopla around the Super Bowl is the perfect time to host a get together with your sisters,
their families and friends. This of course assumes that you live near each other. It not, you could host a party
with your sister like friends. Even thought I am not much of a football fan, I do like seeing all of the new
commercials. Participating in Monday morning conversations at work is easier if you at least watched the commercials
and could provide your thoughts on them.
If you really don't want to do a Super Bowl Party, you could use this
time to give the guys time on their own to watch the game and cheer on their teams. The girls on the other hand, could
use this time for some sister bonding over dinner, go to a movie, play cards or board games, or just hang out at Starbucks.
With the guys focused on the game and hopefully watching the kids, you have some time for a good chick flick. Today
is a good day to see a movie like 27 Dresses.
Since I am feeling a little under the weather today, I am not doing
much but taking it easy. My sisters live over a 1000 miles away and have their own Super Bowl plans. So updating
the website today keeps me close to them in thought.
Don't look at Super Bowl Sunday as another Sunday game
day, but rather a day for sisters to get together to catch up, laugh and enjoy the day!

Blogging WeekendI am finally back to working on our website and blog. I can't believe that 4 months have passed since
I did the initial set up. Life happens and other priorities took over. This weekend, I am going to devote time
to building content on the website and adding some thoughts in this blog.
I look forward to sharing ideas on activities
to do with our sisters and friends. These activities could be as simple as meeting at Starbucks, to shopping together,
to taking a luxurious vacation together.
I have been doing research on blogs and saw so many good ones out there.
There are so many talented people sharing their thoughts on so many topics. This blog will not be technical in nature.
It will be upbeat and fun!
We will also be experimenting in trying to make money from this blog so that
we could fund the site and take some fun trips together.
So have a great weekend and come back to check out our
future posts!

Challenge of setting up this web siteI am so excited to get Weekend Sisters and up and running as a web site.
I thought I would try the "build your own web site" option prior to hiring a professional. I watched the tutorial
and it didn't seem to be all that difficult. Wrong! The process was not intuitive to me.
I first
had to select the page design which took much longer than expected. I finally settled on the beach theme which aligns
with our weekend get away trips for sisters.
Next I had to set up the pages and the navigation bar. This
actually was pretty easy. However, then I had to add the content to each page and this was more difficult. It
would have been helpful if I had written my thoughts previously in a word document and then pasted them into the website template.
Since I did not do that, most of the website is "under construction"!
However, I am celebrating the birth
of our web site which took over one year from idea to press. I haven't yet told Diane and Donna that it is up and
published. I plan to do so tomorrow. I can't wait to hear their reaction.
I hope that you follow
our journey to developing this website into a community for sisters and hopefully join us at one of our future events or sisters
weekend trips.
